Evansville fire crews were sent to a Storage Express location in the 48-hundred block of Tippecanoe Drive around 9:00 Wednesday night.
The fire made it necessary for Green River Road northbound to be blocked at Lincoln Avenue.
Fire crews said the fire was mainly concentrated in four of the storage units.
Twenty of the 50 units were damaged.
The fire was out in about an hour.
There may be smoke damage throughout the remainder of the structure.
No one was injured.
