Evansville police were dispatched to the east side Wal Mart Super Center about 8:30 Thursday night.
It was reported that a man with a gun was chasing a woman through the store.
By the time responding officers arrived, the woman had been secured into a store office by employees.
No shots were fired.
Police systematically cleared the store for a time and was re-opened by 9:00 pm.
Investigators are reviewing security video.
