The elected coroner of Knox County made her first court appearance on Monday in connection with drug possession charge.
A preliminary plea of not guilty was entered on behalf of Karen Donovan, who said she would be hiring private council.
She is charged with felony possession of meth and a misdemeanor charge of possession of prescription drugs.
Donovan is due back in court July 17th.
