In December of 2021 The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation after receipts from campground rentals weren’t adding up at Burdette Park.
In April, the State Board of Accounts reported that only $965 of the nearly $22,000 was collected.
59 year old Scott Thompson was the campground manager at the time and his wife Catherine took an active role in handling the intake and deposit of rental fees.
The couple surrendered themselves at the Vanderburgh County Jail on May 15 and have since been released.
Their next court hearing is on June 9.
