Two Evansville Police Officers were on patrol around noon yesterday when they spotted a man they knew had a warrant.
This was in the 1500 block of E. Indiana Street.
The white male suspect was standing in the street with another male up against the back of a vehicle with the hatch open.
Officers pulled up behind the two men and immediately started giving commands.
The wanted suspect refused to comply and started tugging around the front of his waistband.
He reached for a gun with his right hand inside the car.
He raised the 9 mm and racked the slide.
Officers fired their duty weapons at the suspect and shot him.
The man was still alive when he was transported to the hospital.
No one else was injured.
