Officers visited an Evansville home after they were contacted by Child Protective Services on Wednesday in regards of a child being left alone.
The mother of the child, 30 year old Rachel Cleek told EPD that she picked up her 8 year old son early from school because he was sick.
She then returned to work.
The home had no running water or electricity.
Once inside, officers were quickly met with a horrible odor of urine and feces.
Dirty clothes and trash littered the house.
The child was placed with his father.
Cleek was booked into the Vanderburgh County jail and charged with neglect of dependent.
