This year the Distinguished Hoosier Award went to Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin.
The award is only given to those who have brought honor, distinction and respect to the state of Indiana.
It is granted at the discretion of the Governor.
Chief Bolin has served on the Evansville Police Department since 1998.
