Governor Eric Holcomb declared this Winter Weather Awareness week in Indiana.
The Indiana Department of Transportation and the National Weather Service want to use the week to to better prepare residents for the possible winter hazards.
Never tailgate or drive beside a snowplow.
Always carry an emergency kit in your vehicle with food, water, phone charger, sand or cat litter, flares/bright LED alternatives and blankets.
There are more than 66,000 variations of winter storms, including ice, snow and freezing rain.
