Evansville Police Officers were dispatched to an assault in progress in the 1200 block of Park Street Friday night.
When officers arrived they located an adult male victim inside of a home with a stab wound to the chest.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he passed away.
After speaking to witnesses, officers located 26 year old Zachary Page walking near N. Fulton an W. Florida Street.
Page admitted to stabbing the victim in self defense.
Witness statements and evidence did not back up Page’s claim.
He was charged with murder and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
