The Sheriff’s Department responded to a car crash on State Road 62 and Schutte Road around 10:00 Monday night.
A request for a supervisor was made by an officer informing them one of the drivers was an agency employee.
The driver, 43 year old Michael Bishop is a deputy with The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department.
An officer says he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Bishop’s breath and his speech was slurred and slow.
A field sobriety test showed his blood alcohol content level was point 338 over four times the legal limit.
He was arrested, booked then released on a $100 bond.
