Samajui Barnes was accused in the shooting death of Jonathan Stitts.
It happened in October of 2021 on Parrett Street near Haynie’s Corner.
When officers arrived on the call the found Stitts with gunshot wounds at about 8 in the morning.
Barnes was 17 years old at the time of the killing, but the prosecutors office said he would be tried as an adult.
His jury trial is now under way.
