About 275 members of Evansville’s National Guard 163rd Artillery left for Iraq this morning.
The soldiers were honored Tuesday afternoon with a public send-off at a local church.
The soldiers will be deployed for a year on a mission to defend portions of Iraqi forces from missile fire.
