An Evansville man is in jail accused of intentionally beating an animal.
A witness says 40 year old Carl Cooper was in the lobby of her apartment with a small dog.
She said he got upset when the dog wouldn’t come to him when he called it.
That’s when Cooper picked up the dog and threw it against a wall.
Police say surveillance footage showed Cooper walking outside and throwing the dog in a dumpster.
Cooper is also charged with trespassing and intimidation.
His bond is set at $5,000.
