An Evansville man was hit with a hatchet causing injury to his head.
This happened in the 700 block of Southeast Eighth Street Friday afternoon.
Police say while the victim was waiting on medical treatment, 36 year old Danny Steward showed up to the scene and was arrested.
The suspect told police that he had problems with the victim in the past and hit him on the head with a nightstick last year.
Steward was charged with battery and failure to possess an Indiana ID as a sex offender.
