Evansville police arrived at a house on South Bedford Avenue for a man having heart issues.
This happened after 60 year old Wayne Clardy swung an ax at his nephew for being in the bathroom too long.
When Clardy missed with the axe he threw a pot of boiling water on him causing bad burns on his nephews back and legs.
He was flown to an Indianapolis burn unit.
Clardy spent the night in the hospital then taken to jail.
He is facing numerous charges.
Bail is set at $10,000.
