The City of Mt. Carmel Illinois took a major hit from last night’s storms.
High winds knocked off the top a cell tower, silencing the phones of AT&T Cell customers.
Mayor Joe Judge says two of the town’s three water wells are knocked out, and towers are showing. dangerously low levels
Residents are being sked to conserve water.
Judge says the Southeast side of Mt. Carmel was hit the hardest, and the entire city was virtually without power.
Restoration was expected about noon today for electricity, but it will be at least tomorrow before full water service is restored.
National Weather Service personnel are expected today to determine whether damage was caused by tornadoes.
