There will be no triple crown winner this year.
This year’s Kentucky Derby winner, Rich Strike, will not run in the Preakness stakes.
Rick Dawson, owner of Rich Strike, said that after many discussions with his team, they are going to stick with their original plan to give the horse 5 or 6 weeks of rest between races.
All indications point to running the horse in the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 11.
