A big fire in the small town of Crossville, Illinois happened Thursday evening on Main Street.
White County dispatch said the fire spanned two blocks.
One of the vacant buildings was the old Rawlinson store located near the Citizens National Bank building.
Fire officials say they were trying to keep the main wall of the destroyed buildings from falling in on the bank.
The fire caused damage to electric lines causing widespread power outages.
It took hours to tap the fire out.
The bank was saved.
No injuries were reported.
