The Evansville Police Department responded to a burglary call at 515 South Grand Avenue around 1:30 this morning.
When they arrived on scene they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the attic.
Within minutes the Evansville Fire Department arrived and had the fire tapped out in under 20 minutes.
The fire is under investigation.
The occupants escaped.
No reports of injury.
