The FBI is heading up an investigation into an apparent attempted theft from an Automatic Teller Machine at a Newburgh bank.
The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office got an alert from an automatic alarm inside the machine before 6:00am Thursday.
Sheriff Mike Wilder says the machine was yanked from the concrete framework at United Fidelity Bank on Bell Oaks Drive.
The machine wound up on the grass a few feet away.
It did not appear that the money compartment had been breeched, but the FBI is not returning phone messages inquiring about that.
