An Owensboro coach has some ideas of his own for taking on the crime problem there.
Basketball coach Joshua James is spearheading an event he calls Balls Up, Guns Down as part of an overall plan by New Vision Youth Development.
The event will feature basketball training, guest speakers, and food.
James says the important thing is to find people who can lead the kids into some good habits for their lives.
