An Evansville man stood his ground, after someone tried to break into his home.
Officials say it happened Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of Kimber lane.
Dispatch says a woman called to report a man was inside her fence, yelling at her dog, and trying to break in her door.
EPD says 37 year old Timothy Leavell pulled a gun on the woman and threatened to shoot.
That’s when her fiance grabbed his gun and yelled several times for Leavell to stop.
Authorities say the suspect grabbed a shovel and broke the glass door.
That’s when the resident fired one shot.
Leavell is out of the hospital and in jail. He’s facing several charges.
