The numbers are in for the annual WIKY “Ton of Turkeys” campaign, to benefit the Tri-State Food Bank.
A huge “THANK YOU” to everyone that donated to the turkey drive, and helped our mission to make sure as many people as possible in our area have a turkey on the table for Holiday meals. Because of your generosity, we were able to set a new record for most donations collected.
According to Glenn Roberts, Executive Director of the Tri-State Food Bank, here’s the final tally on donations:
4.8 tons of frozen turkeys
500lbs of ham
5.5 tons of other Holiday food items
5.5 tons of other Holiday food items
For a grand total of 10.5 TONS of food collected!
But that’s not all. Over $13,600 cash was also donated, which is also being used to put as many Holiday meals on tables across the Tri-State as possiboe.
And speaking of generosity, we cannot thank LyondellBasell enough for their INCREDIBLE cash matching donation of $10,000! With the LyondellBasell cash matched added, the final cash donation amount is over $23,600!!!
