Western Kentucky tornado victims looking for assistance, need to watch for fraudulent disaster relief workers.
According to Kentucky State Police, there are people posing as insurance adjusters, contractors and FEMA agents.
Here are things to know, to spot the real deal.
FEMA workers always carry identification with their photo.
Legitimate workers will never ask for money up front, or ask for your personal financial information.
They will never promise a disaster grant in return of payment.
If someone comes to your home and fraudulent activity is suspected, shut your door and call police.
