Deputies were called to a home on County Road 375 South, in response to a disturbance between a married couple.
Forty-four year old Aaron Messmer of Ferdinand had already left the scene.
They caught up to the car and found Messmer to be verbally uncompliant.
When officers got him out of his car, he tried to run, resulting in breaking the hand and causing a cut to a police officer’s eye.
Messmer is being held at the Dubois County Jail without bond
