The man accused of shooting and critically wounding a Posey County deputy is due in court today.
70-year-old Paul Wiltshire will make his initial court appearance where he will be formally charged with attempted murder.
Deputy Bryan Hicks was shot in the head as he and other deputies responded to a check welfare call September 18.
Hicks remains in critical but stable condition at an Evansville hospital.
Wiltshire is being held in the Warrick County Jail without bond.
