The Vanderburgh County Health Department board calls on government leaders, business executives and the public to act immediately to protect those at risk from COVID-19.
Board vice-chair Sandee Strader McMillen says hospitals in the area are overrun and their staffs are exhausted, being overwhelmed with patients.
The board is urging everyone to join in the effort to protect children, pregnant women and the community at large by promoting vaccination, masking and practicing social distancing.
