An Evansville man will serve 21 years in prison for stalking, kidnapping and battery of an ex-girlfriend in Posey County.
Bret A. Swiertz appeared in the Posey Circuit Court and was sentenced by Judge Craig Goedde after pleading guilty to a number of criminal charges, including stalking, kidnapping, domestic battery, invasion of privacy and resisting law enforcement.
As part of his guilty plea, Swiertz, age 53, admitted to stalking and forcefully kidnapping an ex-girlfriend while armed with a knife in Posey County.
