Chief Deputy David Crafton will be the next sheriff of Henderson County.
At the urging of retiring sheriff Ed Brady, Crafton’s name was put before the Henderson Fiscal Court at Tuesday’s meeting.
Ed Brady retires after 14 years as sheriff and 52 years in law enforcement.
His last day is June 30.
Crafton will be sworn in July 2 and will serve the remainder of Brady’s term before standing for election in his own rite in 2022.
