A train passing through Evansville and into Gibson county was discovered to be on fire Sunday night.
The fire forced officials to stop the train at Williams Street Crossing om Fort Branch.
Firefighters said rail ties in one of he cars were on fire.
Another car exhibited some smoke but that matter was quickly disposed of.
No one was hurt and firefighters remained on the scene to deal with brush fires adjacent to the tracks.
