Some Evansville police officers spent yesterday walking a beat, just like the old, old days.
It was the first Walking Wednesday, a program to get the officers out of their cars and into the neighborhoods where they can meet with community members.
Each week, the department crime prevention officer will pick a new neighborhood the officers would like to walk in.
If you see an officer walking they’d love it if you come out and say hi.
