A former University student says in a lawsuit that she was sexually assaulted by former had basketball coach Walter McCarty.
The suit says the school knew about claims of harassment and assault that had been leveled against McCarty but the school didn’t do enough to protect its students.
The suit describes a long string of reports from students, employees and community accusing McCarty of sexual misconduct, but the school appeared indifferent to those reports.
McCarty issued a statement denying the allegations.
U of E issued a statement saying the school has responded appropriately to all reports of misconduct by McCarty.
