Kiwanis Club of historic Newburgh is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser on February – the end of March, 2021 to raise funds for their Humanitarian Projects. The Club will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes.
Our Kiwanis Club of Historic Newburgh has raised over $4,500 over the past four years.
Those dollars benefit our local projects (all funds received will be distributed in Newburgh and Warrick County).
Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes at all ERA First Advantage Realty locations.
If you prefer, call Ruth Hahn at 812-573-9113 and leave a message for pickup at your home.
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create maintain and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school.
“So many fundraiser have had to be cancelled,” said Ruth Hahn. “Collecting shoes is a great way to clean out your closet and help people in need”. Brenda Bender, Shoe Collection Chairman says “It’s a win-win-win for everyone.”
By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to the Kiwanis Club of Historic Newburgh, the shoes will be given a second chance to make a difference in people’s lives around the world.
