Police respond to reports of a man with a gun at the Taco Bell on Green River Road.
Officers say the armed man threatened to shoot his girlfriend, and when police arrived he reportedly tried to get them to shoot him.
The man remained in his vehicle despite police commands that he get out of it.
The man’s gun was in plain sight.
Officers say they managed to de-escalate the situation and take the man into custody.
The suspect has been identified as 26 year old D Yawn Dontae Griffin.
Police found a handgun, 6 clips and 117 rounds of ammunition in Griffin’s car.
He has a concealed carry permit.
Griffin was jailed and charged with felony intimidation with a deadly weapon.
