E-P-D officers see a car bust a stop sign near Maryland and Edgar streets and try for a stop but the driver drove away at high speed.
The pursuit was terminated for safety, but the car was found abandoned in an alley behind the 2200 block of West Iowa street with a baby in a car seat inside.
Officers were able to remove the infant for safety but found marijuana under the padding in the car seat.
Paperwork in the car connected it to 28 year old Emily Ann Howard who had five active felony warrants against her.
Howard was found hiding behind an A/C unit near her abandoned car.
She was booked on new charges including neglect of a dependent and the warrants.
The baby was placed with family.
