New greenery is headed to the area as he City of Evansville celebrates the holidays by planting trees.
The planting is to express gratitude to the city’s department of Urban Forestry, the Solid Waste District. Centerpoint Energy and private donors. One such donor, Chester Rycroft, donated 14 trees for planting in Garvin Park.
37 more will be planted there with the Solid Waste District picking up the tab.
They’ll also donate 48 trees for planting in Burdette Park.
