A Fort Branch man is jailed after trying to escape from law enforcement during a traffic stop.
41-year-old James Short was wanted for criminal confinement.
A deputy who searched him found marijuana and other controlled substances on him.
Short took off running as the deputy was placing him under arrest.
He was caught a short time later and taken to the Gibson County Jail.
