The P-47 Thunderbolt called Tarheel Hal has scrubbed it’s flight to Evansville for today.
Weather was the cause of the delay of the plane’s flight from Houston.
It’s now scheduled to arrive between 1pm and 2pm Friday.
It’ll be a homecoming of sorts, since that particular aircraft is among the more than 6-thousand P-47’s build here by Republic Aviation during the second world war.
The P-47 Foundation here is fund-raising with an eye toward having the plane make Evansville it’s permanent home.
The plane will do some fly-overs above Dress Plaza and the rest of the city before landing at Evansville Regional Airport.
