The Hadi Shrine Circus has inspired curiosity and wonder in children and families across the tristate for 86 years, but unfortunately due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 87th year will have to wait until November 2021.
After consulting with the Vanderburgh County Health Department, the Hadi Shrine Temple has made the tough decision to postpone the 2020 Hadi Shrine Circus, which was set to start on Thanksgiving Day.
“Our top priority is the safety of children, families, and our nobility in our communities as well as the performers that would have to travel across the country,” said Joe Vezzoso, Hadi Shrine Circus Executive Director. “For generations, attending the circus has been a time-honored tradition. We will certainly miss it this year, but look forward to taking this time to enliven one of the Last Great American Circuses in 2021.”
Each year, thousands of people gather in Downtown Evansville during the show’s four-day run. Classic acts like jugglers, acrobats, animals, and clowns still wow the crowd while the circus has evolved to include dazzling lights, music, and special effects.
