Evansville City Council members get a first look-see at the proposed 2021 city budget. Mayor Winnecke made the presentation of the $432 million spending plan at last night’s city council meeting, calling it the most complicated to construct.
That’s because of uncertain funding levels from the state and federal governments that could result in additional layoffs among city workers, and the curtailing of various city projects including road repaving.
Hearings will be held all week with the council tentatively scheduled to vote on the new spending plan October 12.
