A team connected with the Evansville Mayor’s Office is working on charting the expected quality of air thirty years from now.
The Climate Action Plan looks for ways to slow or stop emissions from greenhouse gasses that smudge the quality of breathable air in Evansville and the surrounding area.
To that end, several town hall meetings have been held online looking for input from local businesses and residents on ways to control the release of those gasses.
Greenhouse gasses form when fossil fuels are burned, particularly in cars.
When that happens, the gasses trap the sun’s radiation and gradually warm the air, resulting in increased temperatures, shorter winters, and more rain which in turn leads to more flash flooding.
The final two meetings, via ZOOM, will take place Tuesday at 6:00PM and Wednesday at 10:00AM CST.
