Evansville police are warning area residents about a possible panhandling scam.
It involves people wearing yellow vests and asking for money at key intersections such as Morgan and Burkhardt and the Lloyd Expressway and Burkhardt.
They walk up to cars and ask for money, which is a violation of the panhandling law.
The group is from Florida and claims to be connected to a church there.
The church with which they claim affiliation could not be located.
They say the money they are raising will help the homeless in Florida, and will not be used locally.
