One person is dead, and another suffered a gunshot wound during an officer-involved shooting.
It happened on E. Illinois Street around noon Tuesday.
It started when EPD got a call about a man with a protective order showing up at a home and shooting the woman inside.
When officers encountered the man at the doorway, the suspect pointed a gun, and that’s when officers fired shots, killing the man.
The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
One officer is now on paid administrative leave, as required by police policy.
