Tasting vets Jill Trautvetter and Kurt Tillman were back and new additions this year, Fall Festival tasting experts The Griese Boys, Jim and Dan. Or is it Dan and Jim?
Booth 103 Central Bears Athletics. Plump deep fried mushrooms with a tangy dipping sauce. Great booth to start!
Booth 104 Alpha Sigma Alpha USI. Chicago Style Hot Dog. Genus in a bun. They go the extra mile for true fans by offering all the proper Chicago trimmings including Vienna buns and franks! Nicely authentic.
Booth 105 Cynthia Heights PTA. Wildcat Chicken and Waffles. This spicy combo with a noted syrup caught the team’s attention. Excellent.
Booth 106 Bible Center Cathedral. Buffalo Ranch BLT. Maybe the only BLT on the street? Nice combo and there are a number of BLT varieties available.
Booth 107 USI Varsity Club. Ribeye Steak Sandwich. Tender, tasty and a Festival favorite, perhaps the best steak on Franklin.
Booth 108 It Takes a Village. They drive to Louisiana every year to stock this booth. We tried the deep fried Boudin Balls, a nicely spicy Cajun sausage that is a must try (but perhaps an acquired taste for some).
Booth 109 St Peters UCC. Ham Beans and Corn Bread. Big seller on cool nights. Simple and delicious. Excellent corn bread.
Booth 110 Evansville Day School. Puppy Chow. Hand made by students at the school. Can’t beat it.
Booth 111 Scout Troop 350. Piggy Mac. Big hit with the team. Outstanding BBQ pork over a creamy mac and cheese. Nice.
Booth 112 Central Band. Pumpkin Cupcake. Literally in a cup and with a homemade icing to die for. Previous award winner.
Booth 113 McCutchanville Community Church. Strawberry Shortcake. “We have the best desserts at Fall Festival.” Just ask them! Can’t go wrong with this shortcake which includes ice cream, of course.
Booth 114 Outboard Motor Club of Evansville. The home of the original Pork Parfait. We awarded them for when it debuted years ago. It’s still tops.
Booth 119 Catalyst Church. Churro Fries. Crispy cinnamon goodness.
Booth 121 Mission in Ukraine. Multi-award winning booth with outstanding homemade native foods. This year we tried their new Varenyky, a potato perogy, that didn’t disappoint.
Booth 122 Young and Established. Crab Rangoon Dip with Chips. From China Bistro. Need we say more?
Booth 123 Faith Church of the Nazarene. Alani Float with Ice Cream. Cold and refreshing. This year’s Festival weather will go great with these. Lot of other flavors, too.
Booth 124 Howell General Baptist Church.
Booth 125 Ozanam Family Shelter. Continuing the Texas Tenderloin Tradition. Most popular ‘loin on the street equals longest line. Killer tenderloin.
Booth 126 Building Blocks. Pickle Bombs. Giant pickles stuff with goodness. You’ll never think of pickles the same again.
Booth 127 West Terrace PTA. Dirty Soda. We tried two – Dr. Pepper and Apple Cider. What makes it dirty? Cream. So not really dirty, more like smooth as silk. Really great treat.
Booth 128 St Joe Men’s Club. The Meat Hammer. Sausage and German bologna sandwich. New item this year and a team favorite. This one could go all the way.
Booth 129 Evansville Junior Football League. Pizza Burger. Great sauce makes it.
Booth 130 The River Outreach. Loaded Corndog. As it happens, their corn dogs kept exploding. Solution? Load ’em up! Cheese and other toppings – you get it. The result is the most unique corn dog at the festival.
Booth 131 Hadi Shrine Arab Patrol. Stawberry Lemon Shakeup. A nice twist on the tradition lemon. Delicious.
Booth 132 Germainia Manachor. Kraut Balls. The legend. This year they made something like 20,000 of them. They’ll sell out.
Booth 133 Burdette Park BMX. Glazed Pig. This is a brand new booth and they’ve kicked off their first Fall Festival with a bang. The Glazed Pig is a pork patty on a glazed donut. Old Fashioned Butcher Shoppe meets Donut Bank.
134 Tekoppel Tigers. Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chips. A previous multi-award winner and for good reason. Light, tasty snack that satisfies without a deep fryer.
Booth 135 Youth Resources. Puppy Chow. Hand made with love and in two excellent flavors – Birthday Cake and Cinnamon.
Booth 136 Evansville Rescue Mission. Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac. Lots of macs here (6 different) including last year’s award winning Pizza Mac. All made in house. This is Fall Festival comfort food.
Booth 137 Hadi Oriental Band. Smoked Pork Chop Sandwich. Oh, it’s the real deal. Nicely smoked with plenty of extras available.
