A Madisonville stepfather is facing child abuse charges.
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Wells Avenue on Tuesday morning in reference to a complaint of a 3-year-old child walking in the middle of the street by himself wearing only a diaper.
Police eventually made contact with Christian Stanley and asked him how the child made it outside by himself.
Stanley told them the child pushed open a window at the rear of the house while he was sleeping.
The window was 4 feet off the ground.
While en route to the jail, Stanley told officers he knew this was his fault and that he would attempt to do better.
