Attorney General Todd Rokita wants an execution date for the man convicted of killing two children in 2010.
Jeffery Weisheit tied up his fiancée’s children, 5-year-old Caleb Lynch and 8-year-old Alyssa Lynch, lit a fire, and then fled from the house.
He was caught in Boone County, Kentucky, after a high-speed chase with law enforcement.
In 2013, Weisheit was sentenced to death.
Rokita’s motion requests that the execution date be set in the next 30 to 45 days.
This execution, once scheduled and carried out, would mark the fourth in Indiana since 2024.
