Former Evansville mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel is the Democratic nominee for Indiana Attorney General.
Weinzapfel, a lawyer, served two terms as Evansville mayor, and had served in the Indiana General Assembly as a State Representative.
He was also chancellor of Ivy Tech State College.
Republicans will name their nominee from a list of candidates that includes incumbent Curtis Hill.
