Evansville’s LST 325 has a new captain.
On Saturday, Captain Bob Kubota was relieved of his duty after 13 years.
The ship’s new Captain is John Vaughn.
This was only the second change of command ceremony in the history of the LST 325.
During his time, Kubota worked to educate the citizens of Evansville about the vast history the ship offers.
Incoming Captain John Vaughn says he hopes to continue the legacy of preserving the LST’s rich history as he takes the wheel.
The ship’s next voyage will begin on September 19.
