104.1 WIKY has been selected as a recipient of the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation “Service to America” award for 2026.
The award is in recognition of the WIKY Morning Show’s annual Veterans Day Breakfast, hosted at the Evansville Wartime Museum. WIKY Morning Show host Dennis Jon Bailey came up with the idea, and the first breakfast was held on board the LST-325 in 2004. The annual event was moved to the Evansville Wartime Museum in 2021.
In 2025 over 500 Vets and their families enjoyed the free meal, as the WIKY Morning Show of Dennis Jon Bailey and Diane Douglas broadcast their show live all morning long on-site, interviewing Veterans and getting their stories of service throughout the event.
Only three radio stations in the United States receive this award annually. The reception for the “Service to America” Awards will be June 9th in Washington D.C.
