A Dubois County cold case has finally been solved after 25 years.
On September 1, 2000, a male suspect armed with a gun robbed the Holland National Bank in Ferdinand.
Before the robbery, the suspect restrained a mother and child inside their home using plastic ties, then placed them in a closet.
While restraining the mother, the suspect dripped blood onto her ankle.
Law enforcement collected and preserved a swab of that blood as evidence.
In 2024, DNA led police to three brothers.
Two of the brothers are deceased.
Investigators were able to rule the living brother out as a suspect.
So far, Indiana State Police have not released any names in this case.
